September 11, 2010 — 9 years later.
As I was laying in bed in my barracks room, I was pondering how I was going to show that I remember this day nine years ago. Everything I could possibly think of was, in my mind, cliché. With every idea that came to mind, I thought, “Oh, someone is already thinking that,” or, “Everyone is doing that.” And that’s when it hit me.
“Everyone is doing that.” This is exactly what I’d like to see on this day, every year. Every American should take a moment on this day to remember what happened; to remember how they felt at that moment; to remember the fallen.
It doesn’t have to be a somber day afterward — we understand, life goes on. But the moment we forget to remember, is the day that the enemy has won.
Remember, don’t forget.
I think this is a great song, written and performed by Alan Jackson, that establishes the right mood for what I’m trying to say.
Where were you when the world stopped turning?
This is hard to read with the colors you chose as a background and the text color , but good message ;)
